General Description:
Vthe mk171 adapter consists of a black plastic, hexagonal shaped device approximately 1.10 inches long and .75 inch wide. this inert adapter is externally threaded at one end to facilitate threading into the activator well of any standard demolition charge. thebore in the threaded end is large enough to receive nonelectric detonators or electric blasting caps. a smaller bore in the opposite end is large enough to receive the pyrotechnic lead of nonelectric detonators. the nonelectric detonator or electric blasting cap is held in place by a shoulder formed where the two bores meet. a slot alongthe length of the adapter allows the insertion of lead wires of an electric blasting cap or a pyrotechnic lead of a nonelectric detonator.
