A fitting having three connections with the branch connection fixed at 90 degrees (1.5705 radians) to the run. The hose connection(s) have standard hose threads, an incomplete part of a threaded end connection that grips the hose directly, or is unthreaded and designed to accommodate a hose. The boss connection(s) has external or internal machine threads (straight threads other than pipe or hose series), and is designed to facilitate a gasket, preformed packing, washer, or the like, to form a seal at the boss. It may have side inlet(s). It is used as a junction at the intersection of a hose or hose fitting and a boss or boss fitting on items such as tanks, housings, valve fittings, and the like. Packing shall be accomplished to meet the performance test requirements of astm-d4169, distribution cycle 18, assurance level 1.
Packing shall be accomplished in accordance with table c.Ii for the packing level specified. closure, sealing and reinforcement shall be in accordance with the appropriate shipping container specification.
Options can be exercised as to specific method of preservation or dod approved packaging materials to be used. however, basic preservation method shall be retained, supplemental data shall be complied with, and unit package dimensions shall not be increased by more than one inch. equal or better protection shall be given the item and there shall be no increase in the package cost.
