A metal item, usually rectangular-shaped, and having either parallel or divergent corrugations; it is designed to be driven into wood joints for the purpose of making them strong and tight. One edge of the fastener is sharpened and may be either plain or cut to resemble saw teeth. The item may be supplied in bulk, ribbonlike form suitable for cutting into standard or special lengths as required.
