An item composed of one or more materials, molded, compressed and/or baked into a rigid covering of the proper shape and size for various standard pipe or tube fittings. It is specifically designed to restrict the transfer of heat or protect from low or high temperatures. The molds are cut in half lengthwise and may be furnished with protective coatings, jackets, attaching bands, and/or accessories for application, (excluding prefabricated components used in aircraft applications). excludes insulation pipe covering, thermal, aircraft.
Packing shall be accomplished to meet the performance test requirements of astm-d4169, distribution cycle 18, assurance level 1.
Packing shall be accomplished in accordance with table c.Ii for the packing level specified. closure, sealing and reinforcement shall be in accordance with the appropriate shipping container specification.
Packaging is in accordance with a procedural specification or a special packaging instruction (spi). the appropriate specification number will be shown in the clear in the supplemental data area.

Heated general purpose - heated 40 f and above.
Physical protection.
Astm-d4727, domestic fiberboard used as pads, cells, die cuts or sleeves.
No requirement.
No special type of cargo code applicable.
Wallboard (less than 35 feet).
Construction materials: includes paint and related materials, prefabricated building, wood products, metal and composition mater.
Shipment is not a consolidation and does not exceed 84 inches in any dimension.
