The finish was changed to gold iridite from nickel platted because the customer felt the nickel was to reflective in the field. On top of this the receiver sensitivity was improved and power consumption was reduced for both tx and rx thus reducing the size of the rx (3.5 x 3.75 x 1 inch) and tx (3.5 x 3 x .5 inches)
