An item of metallic composition cast in the form of an elbow, which is primarily intended to provide for the angular entrance of wires into a building, structure, or enclosure. This item, specifically designed for installation in exposed locations, has two hubs of a specified size to fit the service entrance conduit and may have a third hub for a driven ground connection. It has a cover which makes it tamper-proof and weather-resistant. It may include facilities for pulling electrical conductors but does not have facilities for mounting wiring devices.
Packing shall be accomplished using cleated plywood boxes, overseas type, conforming to astm-d6251, type iii, class 2, or nailed wood boxes conforming to astm-d6880, class 2, heavy duty.
