The sam chest seal combo pack provides two chest seals, one vented and one non-vented and one pair 4x4 berry compliant gauze that allows the provider to deal with both entry and exit wounds in cases of through-penetrating traumatic chest injuries; the vented seal features a one-way valve; the one-way valve provides for low resistance flow of air out of the chest cavity while preventing ingress, the valve is also designed to prevent blockage internally, the domed shape of the valve was specially designed to prevent obstruction of the air channels from items such as blankets, clothing, and body armor

In addition, it is used to prevent a tension pneumothorax and/or reinflate a collapsed lung without invasive procedures. This item can be used with needle thoracentesis and can be stored in any emergency kit or bag or for aero-medical transport. May include a one-way valve which lets air escape from the pleural space without allowing air to enter.
