About this product
The blom-singer duckbill voice prosthesis is a silicon one-way slit valve designed for placement in a passage (puncture) between the trachea (windpipe) and the esophagus (food pipe) for voice restoration following laryngectomy (removal of the voice box). The one-way valve protects the airway during swallowing and opens under positive pressure so that air crosses into the esophagus to produce voice; the prosthesis functions to maintain the puncture; allow air to flow from the trachea to the esophagus for voice production; prevent esophageal leakage into the trachea during swallowing; insertion device and instruction manual included; 2.6 cm. Long
