A personal computer laptop platform automated information system. The system of hardware consists of the laptop with the integrated display, keyboard and touchpad and can be found at all echelons from company to corps. The system operator has the capability to access the distributed common ground system-army software application packages that are loaded in the portable multifunction workstation. Each configuration fielded performs the same portable multifunction workstation mission, and are two-way interchangeable from a "form, fit and function" perspective. It is a member of the distributed common ground system - army family of systems.
