A loose assemblage of cotton fibers drawn or rubbed into single strands with very little twist. These strands are joined together by means of threads (stitching) to simulate a woven construction with the strands running fillingwise and the threads running warpwise. Used as a cushioning agent on flatwork ironers, pressing machines and the like.
