Drum is open at top and sides and closed at the bottom; the throwaway filter liner is around the sides inside the drum, and the primary filter is around the sides outside the drum; mist laden air is drawn through the top of the rotating drum and passes out through the sides through the throwaway filter liner then through the primary filter; any droplets which coalesce are driven from the filtering media to the inner wall of the housing by the centrifugal force created by the rotating drum
