Device; housing stand is an annular ring configured to hold gearbox housing flange by means of 4 clamps and has 3 legs; measuring device c/o welded u-shaped fixture that straddles shaft wall; fixture is locket to the shaft by a swivel head screw which engages shaft inside wall; a dial indicator is attached to a post mounted on the fixture; the probe of the indicator rests upon the rabbet of the main gearbox housing and registers radial runout on the indicator dial as the shaft is rotated
