Gage, shimming, rack guide; during assembly of a convergent exhaust nozzle control, a shim must be installed on the gear rack guide assembly; a gage must be used to accurately determine shim; because of the location and design of the guide assembly, a special gage is rqrd; dim. 3 in. Wide by 8 in. Long by 4 in. High; weight 2 lbs; insert guide portion of the gauge into the actuator assembly and engage rack guide assembly; w/blocks positionid against the actuator assembly. Measure the distance from rack guide assembly, to the actuator body. Use shaft to install/remove shims; the base is composed of an altered digi-matic depth micrometer w/two machined steel blocks.
