Functional Description:
To apply a 1.250 lb. Axial load to the tie rod p/n 586217-1 and loosen or tighten the self locking nut p/n 681736-5 on the tie rod, tie rod passes through the shaft assembly p/n 2204644-2 when the axial load is applied, produces a stretch (.020-.024") in the tie rod which stiffens the turbine rotating assembly.
