The theatre injection point: provides the cocom/cjtf an in-theater 23.5 mbps transmit uplink capability. Accepts, coordinates, packages and transmits large, vital data files and video/audio that originate within theater. Transmits on one of the four gbs ka-band transponders on one of the three ufo satellites or commercial ku-band, and will be compatible with wideband gapfiller satellites (uplink at 30-30.5 ghz ka, 14-14.5 ghz ku). The theatre injection point (tip) is comprised of two main components: transportable satellite broadcast manager (tsbm): ingestion and processing of video and data products for broadcast based on design of the fixed facilities - uses same software tactical theater injector (tti) rf component - satellite uplink equipment operates ka or ku band will be replaced by phoenix
