The type 1 general purpose solar cover is 35 feet square; this serves as a general purpose solar fly that is reversible; forest green for hot tropical environments or desert tan for desert environments; it will provide sufficient workspace for small unit (platoon and below) troop coverage, coverage for 3000 gallon onion tanks, water blivets, small unit mess/dining activities and unit level supply activities; this version provides small unit troop coverage as well as the capability to shield a hmmwv from solar heat
