The clamshell enclosure shall be fabricated of engineered resin (plastic). Any organic material used shall be non-absorbent and washable in hot, soapy water. The materials shall also be resistant to damage from exposure to natural levels of ozone and ultraviolet light worldwide; shall not be biodegradable; and shall not be damaged by storage at high and low temperatures. The color is optional. Any metal that is incorporated in the crate, such as for the door, ventilation screens, and fasteners, shall be treated to resist corrosion. The food and water dishes shall be fabricated of stainless steel or food grade plastic comforming to the fda code requirements for multiuse food utensils. The color is optional.

General Description:

The shipping crate shall be designed and fabricated to meet regulatory requirements for repeated shipments of dogs by all commercial modes of transport, including international flights with a travel time exceeding 12 hours. The shipping crate shall consist of a clamshell enclosure with door. The clamshell enclosure shall be separable at the horizonal mid-line and the inverted top, detached door, food dish, and water dish shall nest inside the base for storage. The shipping crates shall be suitable for dogs in the following size range: weight: up to 100 pounds, length: up to 48 inches, and withers height: up to 27 inches.
