Securing the pouch lid is a one, 1 inch, quick release fastener with a 1 inch by 4 inches, the underside of the pouch lid has an additional 1 inch by 1 and 1/2 inch hook and loop fastener for the light fastening of the lid when the quick release is not in use, clear coat polyurethane for water repellency on the backside, the face has an infrared reflectance coating that is called out in co/pd-02-02f, inside there are two (2) grenade spoon attachment straps, the pouch utilizes the pouch attachment latter system (pals) with two 4 inch rear attachment straps, pals incorporated a non-corrosive snap socket which fastens into corresponding snap studs located on the back of the pouch
