Stand alone vest with no modular lightweight load-carrying equipment (molle) capability; fielded as a front and rear ballistic soft panel carrier with shirt tails that provide the operator with a reduced signature during low visibility operations; used in conjunction with the body armor load carriage system (balcs) vest covers and carriers; balcs has various vest configurations which depending on how it is worn provides different levels of ballistic coverage; balcs system and its various vests and components must exclusively be used with each other to ensure proper ballistic resistance capability, fit and function
