Mmb provides a small, lightweight, portable radar transponder beacon for hand emplacement and orientation. Mmb may be used to identify friendly forces and as a point designator for accurate delivery of ordnance by close air support aircraft for immediate or preplanned targets, enroute navigation and drop zone marking. The ability to track these elements enhances command and control, threat warning and force protection, combat search and rescue, situational awareness, counter-fratricide, battlefield visualization, combat identification and total asset visibility.
