An item of rigid construction, which is a component of the track suspension of track laying vehicles. It is specifically designed to pivot at one end and to accommodate a road wheel or a compensating idler wheel on the other, it may have provision for mounting a torsion bar, suspension or other suspension elements at the pivoting axis. it may include spindle(s), bearing(s), hub(s), and the like, and may have provisions for mounting a shock absorber and/or a track tension adjusting link.
Packing is not required. the unit container shall also serve as the shipping container. closure, sealing and reinforcement shall be in accordance with applicable specification for shipping container.
Packing shall be accomplished in accordance with table c.Ii for the packing level specified. closure, sealing and reinforcement shall be in accordance with the appropriate shipping container specification.
Options can be exercised as to specific method of preservation or dod approved packaging materials to be used. however, basic preservation method shall be retained, supplemental data shall be complied with, and unit package dimensions shall not be increased by more than one inch. equal or better protection shall be given the item and there shall be no increase in the package cost.
